Bred from the Mutalisk strain, the Devourers are a deadly addition to the Swarm. These large, flying behemoths are capable of spewing their vile acid at any airborne ships or creatures, causing significant corrosive damage. The venom of the Devourers consists of toxins that can eat through any known substance, including the reinforced armor plating of the Terran and Protoss capital ships. Acid spores splashing off on impact also impair adjacent units.


EVula's Notes:

The Devourer is best used paired with either Mutalisks or Hydralisks. Their acid spores increase the amount of damge done by other units, and once the spores add up, that makes a very dead unit. It also slows down that unit's rate of fire, which can devestate a Battlecruiser or another already slow-firing ship. The only drawback is the fact that it can only attack aerial units; it is very vulnerable to any ground unit that can attack air units, like Marines or Dragoons. Always back them up, never send them to attack all by themselves.
