Stories: Submission Guidelines
If you're reading this page, chances are that you're interested in having an origtinal story that you've written published on my site. If that is the case, first of all, thank you; every story helps to support the Lair, as far as I'm concerned, and I'd like to gather as many stories as possible here.
Now, while getting a story published here is rather easy, that doesn't mean that there aren't any guidelines you have to follow. Here's the list:
- Must be original content, i.e., no plagarism. Stories don't have to be set in original locations or with original characters (for example, fan fiction is set in an environment someone else has written), but the plot and everything does need to be original.
- No set minimum length of a story, but please use common sense. No one wants to read a story that is five lines long.
- There aren't any limits on the content of the story (as far as profanity, sexual content, etc.), but again, use common sense. I'm not going to put up porn here, and I'm not too keen on putting up a story that consists of nothing but violent action.
Here are a few things that you should know:
- I have no problem with reproducing stories that have been published elsewhere (for example, the EV Chronicles), but being the only location for a story is also a preference.
- The stories are only here for as long as you want them to be. If you ask me to remove something, I will.
- Multiple-chapter stories are always preferred to single, one-shot stories. However, either type are readily accepted. This "rule" is, of course, waved for poetry, which usually has multiple chapters.
Still want to submit a story? Excellent! Head over to the Contributing Content page and follow the directions there, and you'll be on your way to getting your work published on the Lair.
