Shipyard: Aliens
Unless you're using a plugin, you'll only see these ships once, when you complete one of the mission strings for either the Confederates or the Rebels. These are some seriously powerful ships, and even though they aren't available, I thought it would be good to have info on them here so you'll know what you're up against.

Deadlier than a Rebel Cruiser, the alien fighter is fast, highly maneuverable and is almost invincible in combat due to its size and ability to quickly regenerate its shields. Travelling in flights of three, these fighters are extremely aggressive and should be treated with extreme caution if encountered.

The Alien Fighter is the best fighter in the game. Too bad you can't buy it. Its an extremely fast ship, which allows it to dodge most incoming missiles; your best hope is to have a tractor beam so you can take it out from behind without having it turn around and kill you.

During the Great War, dozens of ships like these laid waste to entire planets. A single Alien Battlecruiser with its complement of fighters has the potential to wreak utter havoc if left unchecked. With its awesome array of weaponry, it poses a severe and deadly challenge - even to a numerically superior foe.

This is, arguably, the most powerful ship in the game, and YOU get to destroy one! It is very powerful: it carries 3 Fighters, its seeker drones can slowly pummel your ship, and its heavy fusion beam can destroy you in a couple of hits. Your best bet is to get behind it and fire your turrets. If you have a tractor beam, use it when you get behind it; this will prevent it from turning, and you'll have a much better chance of survival (make sure you accelerate to get the fighters off your back some).
