Aliens

Wraith: The Wraith are a non-humanoid sentient alien race. They live to the North of Polaris space, and are an important part of the Polaris storyline. The Wraith live in the vacuum of space, but have several planets as well. They have the innate ability to cloak, rendering themselves invisible on the main screen and on your targeting scanner, although they still appear on radar. They can also create a graviton beam which can be very devastating, although its strength grows gradually as they mature. The Wraith, for some reason, attack the Polarans whenever they meet. Their home planet is the gas giant Hot'A'Tanius, to the North-East of Polaris space. They have an instinctive understanding of hyperspace, and can jump through it without slowing down.

Krypt: The Krypt plays an important part in the Vell-os storyline, appears in one other, and is peripherally connected to humanity via the Vell-os. The Krypt controls and is spread over approximately 1/10th of the galaxy. The Krypt and Vell-os have been connected for centuries but have only known each other for decades. Every time they meet, the Krypt attacks the Vell-os. The Krypt was created by the Krypt-tokh, leaders of the Vell-os, who imbued their minds into their "builders" (nanites) shortly before the Vell-os were enslaved by the Colonial Council following the Vell-os War.

Its space now borders human territory, and there has been a small level of contact. It originated on the planet Vellos and was "born" self-aware. Krypt can take human form, but is seen primarily as enormous nanite globes flying through space that do not communicate and can easily destroy anyone foolish enough to attack them. It has no specific form, and can change shapes. Krypt extends through what was Vell-os space, and beyond into other uninhabited territories. The Polaris and the Auroran Empire are not aware of its existence.

Hyperioids: The Hyperioids, space-dwelling animals that consume the emissions from certain stars, are a common sight to the north of the border between the Federation and Polaris. Though peaceful, they can propel photons out of their mouths when they feel threatened, creating an extremely dangerous beam referred to as the Solar Lance. Much of a Hyperioid's body is composed of energy rather than matter, and they breed by group construction, by which a group of Hyperioids give their traits to a new individual. Hyperioids serve only as background detail to EV Nova's universe, and do not play an important part in any storyline.

TCTLIDS: This acronym, mentioned briefly in the Nova History preamble, stands for 'The Creature That Lives In Deep Space' and is a reference to elements that were once part of Nova in its earlier stages. TCTLIDS does not appear in the EV Nova scenario.
